Description
Quick verdict: The Innokin Coolfire Z80 Zenith II is a refillable box mod kit for MTL and RDL vaping at £39.95. It runs on a single 18650 battery (sold separately), fires up to 80W, and comes with two Z coils so you can pick a tight, cigarette-style draw or a looser, airier one. Best for vapers who want a pocketable, long-lasting MTL setup with room to grow. Less ideal if you only want big sub-ohm clouds.
The Innokin Coolfire Z80 Zenith II vape kit pairs Innokin’s best-selling single-18650 box mod with the third-generation Zenith II tank. It is built for refillable MTL vaping (mouth-to-lung, a tight draw that feels like a cigarette) and RDL vaping (restricted direct-to-lung, a slightly airier pull), with variable wattage from 6 to 80W and a 2ml top-fill tank that takes the full range of Innokin Z coils.

Pick Your Inhale: MTL or RDL
This is the first thing to decide, because the coil you fit changes the whole feel of the vape. The kit covers both styles out of the box:
0.8Ω Z coil (MTL): a tight, cigarette-like draw. Innokin rates it 15–18W, but many vapers run it a little lower, around 12–15W, for an even tighter, cooler draw. This is the setting most ex-smokers want.
0.3Ω Z coil (RDL): a warmer, airier pull with more vapour. Best at 30–40W. Open the airflow ring up for this one.
You are not locked in. The Zenith II accepts the whole Innokin Z coils range from 0.1Ω to 3.5Ω, so you can fine-tune the draw as your taste changes.
Key Features
Replaceable 18650 battery: swap in a fresh cell instead of waiting to recharge. Ideal for all-day vapers and travel.
6–80W variable wattage: enough power for sub-ohm coils, with fine control for gentle MTL.
Quarter-turn top fill: twist the top and drip your e-liquid in. No removing the tank, with a silicone seal to keep it tidy.
Adjustable airflow: tune the draw from tight MTL to open RDL with the bottom ring.
FØ and Refresh modes: FØ aims to lift flavour and stretch coil life; Refresh re-wets a coil that has been sitting, reviving the taste after the device has been unused.
0.96″ colour screen: a clear readout of wattage, coil resistance and battery level. Browse more vapes with a screen if that matters to you.
510 connection: fit your own tanks or drip tips if you want to experiment later.
Coils and E-Liquid Pairing
Match your e-liquid to the coil for the best result:
0.8Ω MTL coil: use a 50/50 e-liquid or a high-PG nic salt. Salts give a smoother throat hit at higher nicotine, which suits new switchers.
0.3Ω RDL coil: use a 70/30 high-VG shortfill at lower nicotine. High-VG liquid wicks better in sub-ohm coils and produces more vapour.
As a rough nicotine guide: a 10–20 a day smoker usually starts around 10–20mg salts on the MTL coil; lighter smokers go lower.
Battery, Coil Life and Running Cost
On a single 18650, most vapers get a full day of MTL use; heavy or higher-watt RDL use drains it faster, which is where the swappable cell earns its place. You will need to buy an 18650 separately, plus a charger if you do not have one. Browse 18650 batteries and chargers to complete the kit.
Coils typically last around a week, depending on how much you vape and the liquid you use. Sweeter, darker liquids gunk coils faster. Running cost is mainly coils plus e-liquid, which works out far cheaper over a month than buying disposables, and you keep the device.
Compatibility and Refills
The kit uses the Innokin Z coil family, the same coils as the original Zenith, Zenith Pro and Zlide tanks, so replacements are easy to find. When the glass needs replacing, fit a Zenith II tank or spare glass. The mod takes any 510 tank up to 27mm with no overhang, so it grows with you if you move to a different tank later.

Switching From Disposables?
If you have come from a disposable, the Z80 gives you the same MTL hit with the 0.8Ω coil, but you refill it instead of binning it. Filling takes seconds, a bottle of e-liquid replaces several disposables, and a charged 18650 keeps you going all day. It is a step up in control, and far cheaper to run.
FAQ
Does the Coolfire Z80 come with a battery?
No. It needs one 18650 battery, bought separately, plus a charger. This keeps the kit cheaper and lets you carry a spare cell.
Is the Zenith II MTL or RDL?
Both. The 0.8Ω coil gives a tight MTL draw; the 0.3Ω coil gives a looser RDL draw. Adjust the airflow ring to suit.
What coils does it take?
The full Innokin Z coil range (0.1–3.5Ω), including the 0.8Ω and 0.3Ω coils supplied. They push-fit into the tank base.
How long does a coil last?
Around a week for most vapers. Darker, sweeter liquids shorten coil life. Using Refresh mode after the device has sat unused can revive the flavour.
Why is my Zenith II leaking or flooding?
The usual cause is the coil not seated properly. Make sure the coil pushes in straight and fully, with its O-ring sitting evenly, not wonky. Close the airflow when you refill, do not overfill past the line, and avoid very hard pulls, which can flood the coil. Re-seating the coil fixes most cases.
What e-liquid should I use?
50/50 liquid or nic salts for the MTL coil; 70/30 high-VG shortfill for the RDL coil. Match the liquid to the coil for the best flavour and wicking.
What is FØ mode?
Innokin’s flavour technology that aims to boost taste and extend coil life. It is subtle; some vapers notice it, some do not, and the kit works fully without it.
Can I use a different tank?
Yes. The 510 connection fits any tank up to 27mm without overhang, so you can pair the mod with another sub-ohm or MTL tank later.
